Q - Will the Proms go ahead even if it rains on the day? 

A - The Proms will go ahead regardless of the weather?


Q - Is there a dress code.

A - No, suitable clothing for a Scottish Summer would be advisable. Some audience members choose to dress in their finest gowns or make it a black tie event with a pair of Wellies to complete the look!!! Putting the Glam into Glamis! 


Q - Is there parking near by?

A - Yes, there is free parking very close to the audience area, the parking closest will be reserved for Blue Badge holders. Parking marshals will be on hand to direct traffic into and out of the parking area.


Q - What time does the Proms start?

A - The entertainment will take place from approximately 4.30pm onwards with local groups singing and highland dancers. There will be a pipe band display before the Scottish Pops Orchestra take to the stage for the Proms concert which starts at 7pm 


Q - What time will it end?

A - The orchestra will be playing from 7pm until around 9.15pm (there will be a 30 min interval)


Q - Can I bring a BBQ or camping stove.

A - No. There will also be no naked flames, this includes candles and firepits.


Q - Is the concert suitable for children.

A - Yes. One of the aims of the concert is to inspire our next generation of musicians. The proms is a great way to introduce children to music in a relaxed less formal setting than the traditional concert hall.


Q - Is there designated seating?

A - No, audience members can sit anywhere they like to watch the concert.


Q - Can I bring a table and chairs.

A - Yes, of course. The area to sit in is large, but please be aware of blocking the view of other audience members. Some people prefer to sit on a picnic blanket.


Q - Can we bring our own food.

A - Yes, this is an important part of the Proms experience. Sharing a picnic in the stunning surroundings of Glamis Castle and listening to beautiful music.... perfect!


Q - Can we buy food and drinks at the Proms

A - Yes, there will be many stall holders and food outlets to buy food. There will also be a bar selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as coffee.


Q - Can we arrange to have a coach drop us off and pick us up.

A - Yes this is possible, traffic marshals will direct coaches to a designated drop off point.
